The adventure starts from the comfort of your hotel; Peru Day Tours will pick you up at your Cusco hotel in at approximate range between 8:45 and 10:30, depending on the location of your hotel, to take you to the Ollantaytambo Train Station.
Start of the train trip: The departure from the Ollantaytambo Station to Machu Picchu Pueblo will be approximately 11:15. The exact time will be confirmed by email at the end of the reservation, based on the availability of trains and entrance tickets to Machupicchu at that time. The journey lasts about 1 hour and a half on board the train to Machu Picchu.
Arrival in Machu Picchu Pueblo: Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting for you at the Machu Picchu station. You will have free time to organize your luggage, and if necessary, leave behind what you will not need during the visit to Machu Picchu. You can also use the restrooms.
Transfer to the bus station: Approximately 30-40 minutes later, you will walk to the bus station accompanied by your guide. On the way, we will indicate the location of the restaurants for lunch and how to get to them from the bus station, so you will have them located for your return. In less than 5 minutes, you will reach the bus station.
Consettur bus transfer: Consettur buses depart regularly, with a typical waiting time of between 35 and 45 minutes. Once the journey begins, it will take you 30 to 40 minutes to reach Machu Picchu.
Arrival at Machu Picchu: Once at the top, our staff will organize the group, provide some final instructions, and start the fantastic visit to Machu Picchu with our certified guides from Peru Day Tours.
Visit: The visit will begin around 14:15 and will last approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. Our guides will share stories that only experts know, provide tips for taking the best photos, and help you make the most of this long-awaited visit.
Return by Consettur bus: After thoroughly enjoying your visit, the history of the place, and the breathtaking views, and having captured everything on your camera, we will return from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes Pueblo. We will be waiting for you around 16:45 at the Machu Picchu bus stop. We will again wait for the Consettur buses (with an approximate wait of 30-40 minutes). Once the journey begins, it will be 30 minutes until your return to Machu Picchu Pueblo, around 5:30 p.m.
Free time: You will have approximately 1 hour to eat something or explore Machu Picchu Pueblo. We recommend that you begin your transfer to the Ollantaytambo train station at 18:30, although this time will depend on the train schedule we have. Just remember to be at the station half an hour before the train departs.
Return by train: At 18:30 or 19:00, you will board the train bound for Ollantaytambo. You will arrive back in Ollantaytambo around 20:00 or 20:45. From there, we will coordinate your transfer back to your hotel in Sacred Valley or Cusco.
